Description: Dramatizes Kunta's determination as he makes one more try for freedom, this time during a harvest celebration. Pictures his capture by sadistic professional slavecatchers who beat him and chop off half his foot to prevent further escape attempts. Follows his removal to Dr. William Reynolds' plantation in payment of John Reynolds' debt, where Kunta recovers and vows not only to walk again, but to run.
