Description: Depicts the colorful life and works of Impressionist painter Paul Gauguin. Although born in France, he spent his life traveling to exotic locales such as Tahiti, Panama, and Peru, and the variety of his images exemplified his restless lifestyle. Discusses "Breton Peasant Women," painted during his early years in an artists' colony in Brittany, as well as indoor scenes of his wife. Also shows "The Vision after the Sermon" and "Les Miserables." Discusses his move to Tahiti and marriage to a young girl who became the subject of many of his works, and the large and euphoric images of paradise he painted in his last years.
