Description: Politically and stylistically innovative, this film from the Ivory Coast dramatizes the links between feminism, economics and tradition in contemporary Africa. Divided in two parts, the film offers an ironic portrait of the rhythms and textures of village life while exploring the strategems of African women in a patriarchal society. In the first story, a woman, unhappy in her marriage, has an affair with her brother-in-law. The second story concerns a woman who operates her own business but is taken advantage of by her family.
