Description: This film presents Chevrolet’s 1977 Chevy Blazer pointing to its various features and parts. It opens with a red four-wheel drive Chevy Blazer (:09) which was also available in a two-wheel drive model (:16). A low entry height of about twenty inches is pointed to enabling easy access (:25). The vehicle makes turns around a highway bend to demonstrate its easy turning ability (:28). Due to its height, it enabled easy viewing over cars ahead as one cuts through a town area (:34). A shot of the Blazer’s sales over the years follows (:38). The vehicle is shown pulling up to a ranch as it was versatile and could be used for work or pleasure purposes (:43). Two trim levels were available to be chosen from (:56). The interior is exposed (1:01) with front bucket seats. Double wall construction was used in the hood (1:10), front fenders, doors, rear porter panels and tailgate (1:14). The Chevrolet K5 Blazer is a full-size sport-utility vehicle that was built by General Motors. GM's smallest full-size SUV, it is part of the Chevrolet C/K truck family. Introduced to the Chevrolet line for the 1969 model year, the K5 Blazer was replaced for 1995 by the Chevrolet Tahoe. The Blazer was designed and marketed to compete with International Harvester Scout and the Ford Bronco. Both of these were originally aimed at the short Jeep CJ series, which were much smaller than other trucks. The innovation of the Blazer was to simply offer a shortened pickup truck, which both increased interior space, and lowered the cost of production with a shared platform.
