Tells the story of how a young boy's lack of racial prejudice influences his lawyer uncle to rescue an innocent Negro who is about to be lynched., Teaching Film Custodians classroom film of excerpts from the 1949 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer feature film, "Intruder in the Dust". When a Negro is arrested for the murder of a white man, a white boy whose mind is "too young to be cluttered" believes the Negro's claim of innocence. He convinces his uncle, the town prosecutor, that a careful investigation should be made. The boy, the prosecutor and a fearless sheriff bring the real murderer to justice and thwart a lynch mob.
