Description: Presents the vowel "u" as it sounds in "ew" words such as chew, "oo" words such as shoot, "ue" words such as glue, long "u" words such as cube, and short "u" words such as cub. Encourages student participation by asking the viewer to discover the difference between pairs of words, by having him say the "u" words as soon as they flash on the screen, and by asking him to spell some of the words. Includes a game which utilizes "u" words superimposed on pictures which provide a hint as to what the word is., Shows the major patterns of letters which give the vowel "u" its long and short sounds. Encourages children to respond verbally.
