Description: Presents the vowel "a" as it sounds in "ai" words such as pail, "ay" words such as play, short "a" words such as at, and long "a" words such as ate. Encourages student participation by asking the viewer to discover the difference between pairs of words, by having him say the "a" words as soon as they flash on the screen, and by asking him to spell some of the words. Includes a game which utilizes "a" words superimposed on pictures which provide a hint as to what the word is.
