The Roots Of War

Offers a short history of the century during which France dominated Vietnam under the colonial tradition leading up to the rise of Ho Chi Minh. Shows that at the end of World War II Ho, flanked by U S officers, declared independence in Hanoi, but that the British helped the French regain control of Saigon.
