Description: Various misconceptions about the caloric and nutritional values of yoghurt, potatoes, and nuts are discussed. Yoghurt is not a diet food; a cup of fruit yoghurt contains as many calories as a dish of ice cream. It has not been proven to aid in digestion and it is not a miracle food insuring a long, healthy life. However, yoghurt is as nutritious as the milk it is made from. In an editorial response, Peter Potato blasts his critics accusing him of a high caloric content. Pete claims that sour cream and butter have waged a smear campaign to disguise their own guilt. In the "did you know?" category, popcorn has half the calories of potato chips, all vegetable oils have practically no cholesterol and there is little difference between dry roasted and canned peanuts. A quick trip through a grocery store reveals that many sale items are no bargain, store brands are often better values than name
