Taxi zum klo

This largely autobiograpical film candidly examines the uneasy balance between love and freedom through the story of a Berlin schoolteacher who, despite a stable relationship with his male lover, is driven to cruise bars, parks and public toilets in pursuit of casual affairs. The director, whose debut film this is, plays himself as an amusing, lovable rogue, supported by real-life friends and lovers. Despite the self-indulgence, some misogyny and scenes of an explicit nature... it is a touching, humorous and generally postive view of homosexual life on the eve of the AIDS crisis. The title can be loosely translated as Taxi to the loo. (Does not circulate).
