Soldier's Home

Adapts the short story of the same title by Ernest Hemingway about the return of Harold Krebbs to his home town at the end of World War I, after the fanfare and greeting of heroes is over. Observes his attempt to return to civilian life in his own way and in his own time. Depicts the pressures from his family, especially his mother, to rejoin the community in which he feels alien., Returning home after World War I to a community in which he feels alien, a soldier struggles to make sense of the past and face the uncertainty ahead.
