thank you ladies and gentlemen I can only tell you that Alice and I say a little prayer every night when we go to bed that our children are healthy and Jerry I think that you and Julius L [Music] Roa should be commended on the wonderful work that you are doing good luck fellas and keep it up thank you thank again we want you to watch Phil Saturday night on his own Allstar review for an hour and a half on NBC it's Phil's first big show we'd like you all to watch I know you'll enjoy it very much hurry up stick your hand out quick stick your I just want to say that Phil loves to do TV you know yeah yeah it's the only way you can be in every bar in town at once the only way what do you want me to do good now all right now go like this and I'll put your fist on top of your hand hurry up no I I really mean it no I really do put your fist on top of your hand go ahead now what's w n guh what w i n g Wing say it twice wing wing [Music] hello oh that was a good one uh right at this particular moment what's going to happen here well we have this letter that we would like to read oh yeah you read the letter and then I'll read the stamp uh this is from the sigma Sigma sari this is in Philadelphia a group of girls who are doing a magnificent job with muscular distrophy and they've donated $2,500 this of course ladies and gentlemen is not a policy of the show we're not announcing what monies are coming in we're merely saying that these girls asked if we would just say hi to them that they continue the hard work of course whether we did or not but they would enjoy if we did so we thought we'd say hi girls and thank you so much for your hard work what is that 1 minute 1 minute for the station bre you kill that in an hour yeah we we have a station break coming up ladies and gentlemen that means so that some of the stations that haven't been tuned to the show you see in that's the idea so we're going to just uh tune off the air for a come back here no come here I I'm not no I mean it this is serious no real I'm not I'm not angry at you or anything like that I'm merely saying that we're going for a station break and uh it's imperative that what is that 30 seconds well television network keep laughing hurry up hurry up keep [Music] laughing we on we are oh boy uh well ladies and gentlemen right this particular moment I'd like to introduce a song that uh that uh we we kind hope you who who's pushing me away M the wrong spot uh a previous B fire 10 minutes ago I sang a little no wait wait what no wait what are we on now we've been F go ahead I that will hit me later I just want to say about 5 10 minutes ago I sang a song entitled that's aori and uh two young men helped it become a very big hit Mr Perry Como sang it on his Chesterfield TV show twice and Mr B Crosby did on his radio radio show he did on his radio show it's a well I'd like to reciprocate and uh do a little song of Mr comes entitled uh you alone and uh not only do I want to dedicate it to Perry but also to my wonderful kids and kids I hope you like [Music] it you alone you alone are the dream I have known bringing love to my lonely heart now there's heaven in view now the dream has come true for tonight I have you alone now the have told me you are my love my own come to my arm and hold [Music] me I live for you alone [Music] oh [Music] elen con for tonight I have you oh Lord that's my partner and he sings good and better and he's the best singer in the whole world he sings better than Frank Sinister and Perry Como and all those other fellas and I say that for two important reasons bread and butter now I I'm a little insulted because Dean didn't tell me he was going to introduce all his kids I think that it would only be fair on my part to introduce mine they're here too I'd like my children to take a b would you mind putting the camera so all right go home go home go on get home you get out of here we're always drinking ladies and gentlemen uh I hope you don't mind if uh we just get a little comfortable because uh now is the time for us to tell you just a couple of things that we think is pretty pertinent that are pretty pertinent and uh it's educating the people to muscular distrophy this is a disease that about 3 and 1/2 years ago very few people knew about I suppose because of lack of funds and there was no possible chance of them ever publicizing The Dread disease and just what it does but it's a disease that they don't know about they don't know where it comes from they don't know what to do about it when it does arrive and the only thing that these kids want is hope now Dean and I have played many many cities throughout the country and whenever we meet a muscular distribute victim all all he ever asks of Dean and I is a little hope if we could do something to give them kind of something to think about or look forward to well that's what we're trying to do and with the letter carriers this is a group of 100,000 men who are going to walk on their day off Thanksgiving Day and the following day to pick up the Martin and Lewis MDA envelopes that were left at your homes we of course would appreciate you're putting whatever you can into the envelopes if you notice we have no phones we're not asking for money we're not asking you to call we don't want to embarrass anyone but the most amazing thing with this disease that kind of scares both de and myself when we sat with the research analysts in New York and they told us if there was a certain amount of money raised and a certain amount is $9 million they could take the disease and wipe it off the face of the Earth in a matter of 3 months time that's pretty frightening but it's true the reason for that so that you understand is so that they can take the $9 million and buy that much radium to work in research to fight muscular distopy if you ladies and gentlemen understand and realize how genuinely profound Dean and I are to help these children you'll put what you can into these envelopes and let the postman pick it up and don't make his March for Mercy one in vain I would like uh that isn't easy for me to do but I would like to uh Carry On Now by uh introducing my partner again this is a young man who I've Had The Good Fortune of working with for8 years and uh in that span of time I've had a a great association with him because he's very much like a lot of people that I know he likes to help and I like to help because he likes to help and if we want to help we'd like you to help help so I now return the show to my partner and
