Description: Presents recent refinements in movie special effects: how they are done, how the techniques originated, and their cost in time and money. Uses many clips from "Star Wars," "2010," "Raiders of the Lost Ark," and others, as well as productions in progress to demonstrate the techniques used: models, animation, rear projection, glass painting, compositing, and flying for weightless effects. Indicates recent innovations in cameras and the use of computers, and uses graphics to explain photographic processes.
