Complete Record: Masters of Time! Man looks thru a telescope, and a time piece in a bell jar. Women construct intricate watches. CU of watch face construction. Detailed shots of hands creating the inner workings of the watch mechanism. Finished product displayed in open satin-lined box. Faster Plaster!- Men mix huge amounts of dry plaster in a metal trough. A black man carries a shovel full of wet plaster up a ladder. Another man smears wet plaster on a wall. More plaster is poured and mixed in a mixer. The plaster is then piped through a tube to the top floor of a building, where a man sprays it liberally on a wall and then smoothes it down. Candy Craft!-Liquid sugar is poured from a machine into a tray of molds. They are then covered in chocolate and decorated by hand. Women pack them into boxes which are weighed. Machines wrap the boxes individually and the heart shaped boxes are hand decorated with ribbon by skilled workers. ‘The Quest for Cortisone!’-The Upjohn Company. A man pour substance into beakers which are then turned into pills. A CU of a bottle filled with cortisone pills. A scientist experiments with plants to create new properties for the drug . a woman does tests with synthetic materials on the cortisone. Scientists use atomic energy for the most advanced form of sterilization known in existence. The scientist turns knobs and dials. CU of voltage meters. Cortisone pills are uniformly dropped in rows onto a tray. Pills are then shaken on a larger tray. ‘Tireless Hauler’- Man and machine construct conveyer belts. Men peel strips of rubber to be made into belts. A machine splices two ends of a large belt together. A small conveyor is shown being used in a department store. A girl at the end of the belt packs groceries into a bag. ‘The National Dessert!’- A little bewildered looking boy stares at his ice cream cone as he exits an ice cream parlor. Inside an ice cream plant. The liquid mixture I churned in a huge vat. Women package pints on a conveyor with the help of machines. Young men in white uniforms pack the pints on another conveyor which put the ice cream into a deep freeze. Dixie cups are filled with ice cream and sent down yet another conveyor. ‘Frost Sticks’ are poured into molds then covered in chocolate. Cut back to the boy enjoying his cone. ca
