Description: Illustrates the unity of the electromagnetic spectrum by comparing the characteristic properties of visible light, X-rays, microwaves, and radio waves. Experiment shows that electromagnetic radiation arises from accelerated charges, consists of transverse waves, and can be polarized. Presents Young's double slit experiment, which shows interference, adapted to each of the above four regions of the spectrum. Demonstration by George Volga, M.I.T.
