Description: In October 1985, Chuck Solomon, a mainstay of the San Francisco theatrical community and co-founder of the Gay Men's Theatrical Collective, was diagnosed as having AIDS. Upon learning the news, producer/director Marc Huestis determined that Chuck's life and contributions should be celebrated and documented while he was alive. The centerpiece of the film is the festive party thrown for Chuck's fortieth birthday, featuring the San Francisco Mime Troupe, comic Tom Ammiano, performers Esmeralda and Doris Fish, and the cast of The AIDS Show. The documentary includes interviews with Chuck's friends and colleagues, as well as with Chuck himself, tracing his growth as a gay man, his career as a gay artist, and his courage in facing a grave illness.
