Uses filmed recollections and a wealth of rare archival material both from the mass media's portrayal of homosexuality and from the gay community's own documentation. Features author/poet Audre Lord, historian Martin Duberman, gay activist Barbara Gittings, poet Allen Ginsberg and others.
