Description: Describes the activities and experiences of second graders as they develop writing skills and attitudes. Shows how group and individual capabilities are fostered as well as how children learn to spell correctly and solve writing problems through such activities as constructing and consulting word files, picture dictionaries, and similar sources. Children are shown sharing their writing efforts with one another, and close-ups of written work illustrate the range of achievement.
