Description: In the interest of raising awareness and understanding about the nature and extent of domestic violence, particularly incest, Shirley Turcotte, a Canadian woman in her thirties, retraces her childhood experiences. She returns to her old neighborhood where she converses with her mother and siblings, with neighbors who knew her as a child, with an old friend, and with the therapist who treated her for nine years. As she visits the sites of her youth, the events of her past painfully unfold. Shirley was sexually abused by her father from infancy through her teenage years. Her sister was similarly victimized; her mother and brother were subjected to physical and verbal abuse.
