The Dragon's Tongue, No. 4: School Days

Presents the culture and language of China using several different themes, each of which is based on life in Beijing. Uses English for the introduction, documentary, history, and conclusion. Uses the common Chinese, or putonghua, without subtitles for the remainder to stimulate comprehension skills in the simulation and drama segments. Focuses on the education system in China, explaining that, while schooling is highly valued, only about three-fifths of all children actually finish primary school.
