Description: Presents the culture and language of China using several different themes, each of which is based on life in Beijing. Uses English for the introduction, documentary, history, and conclusion. Uses the common Chinese, or putonghua, without subtitles for the remainder to stimulate comprehension skills in the simulation and drama segments. Explains that, while most Chinese people work hard, in the cities they are demanding and getting more and better entertainment, primarily television and movies.
