The bridge on the River Kwai

An English colonel is taken prisoner with his men in Malaya during World War II. The Japanese order them to construct a bridge that an American commando unit has been ordered to destroy. The colonel helps the enemy in order to maintain the morale of his troops and then must face the crisis of whether to permit the destruction of the bridge.
