The Amazon: Life Along The River In Peru

Locates the Amazon and describes its size, many tributaries, and climate before limiting coverage of the river to Peru. Begins at Santa Ana Lake, headwaters of the Maranon Tributary and source of the Amazon and follows the main river showing the life of the people in the High Andes and in jungle areas. Explores native villages and the isolated trade center of Iquitos. Discusses the plant and animal life that natives use for food and their dependence upon the river.
