The Amazon: Life Along The River In Brazil

Shows the people and economy of the Amazon as it winds through the jungles and flows side-by-side with the Rio Negro. Points out the two faces of Manaus--one modern with buildings of stone, marble and tile, the other a floating city where people live and work on boats. Calls attention to the importance of the Amazon to Brazil's economy and shows ocean freighters loading and uploading their cargoes at the floating docks of Manaus and at Belem, the largest city on the Amazon.
