Description: Studies the first mammal-like reptiles which arose during the Age of Reptiles. Follows their evolution as they developed hair, became warm-blooded and developed milk glands for feeding their young. Explains that the retention of the eggs within the body of the mother until the young were relatively advanced was a later stage of evolution and that there are still two mammals, the platypus and the echidna, which lay eggs.
