Examines the four states of operation of a transistor that occur in switching applications. Demonstrates the 'CUT-OFF,' 'NORMAL,' 'REVERSE' and 'SATURATION STATE.' Shows how in each case, the minority concentration graphs are established and from them the collector, emitter and base currents are derived. Develops the equivalent circuit for each state.
