Follows a camel caravan through its four-week, 1,000 mile journey across the Sahara Desert. The trip is made each winter by men of the village of Bilma, Republic of Niger, to transport salt to the marketplace at Agades. Shows all phases of the journey, including the extensive preparations, the hardships imposed by extreme temperatures and sandstorms, and the parched beauty of the desert.
