Rothschild's Violin

A brooding tale of repentance and remorse, symbolized by the melancholy strains of a Russian violin. One day, a miserly coffinmaker's wife dies and his grief turns to bitter regret at the way he has treated those closest to him. At his death, he leaves his violin to a fellow musician, Rothschild, who plays mournful, nostaligic melodies upon it.
