Complete Record: New York City... group of boys start to play stick ball. The focus is on a young Asian / Chinese kid who can’t play very well. A girl watches from the sidelines and laughs at him. Ultimately, the young kid is kicked off the team. He sheepishly walks away as the girl starts a conversation with him. Just as he’s about to answer, his mother calls him home. The next day, they meet again outside to play sidewalk games. They talk for a bit and then go to a carousel to “ride their horses”. LS of them running through the park and various shots of them around the city. Empire State Building, etc. Because they have little money, they decide to go to the girl’s building where they can experience a beautiful view. Another couple forces them to get off the roof so they start down the stairs until the girl runs into her mother and must come home. As the girl does chores in her apartment, she sees a reflective light dancing around the apartment. She looks out the window and sees that it is the boy flashing a mirror at her. She gets another mirror and they exchange flashes from their respective buildings. LS of a group of men walking down their alley at night... they knock over trash cans and then we dissolve into the next morning as the young kid’s father and him are sweeping up the garbage. His father is angry with the boy. MS of him sitting in his room with reflections of light dancing all around him. He can do nothing but ignore it. On the street down below, things go on as usual. LS down the street of different buildings.
