Description: Produced by the Houston-based Bob Bailey Productions, this 1970s educational film profiles the rich cooking, culture, and historical customs of Pennsylvania Dutch communities in southeast Pennsylvania. Adapted from the American Heritage Cookbook, the film describes how to make Pennsylvania Dutch dishes like shoofly pie, apple butter, piccalilli, Moravian sugar cake, hot bacon dressing, and funnel cake.Formed in the mid-1930s, the Houston-based Bob Bailey Productions produced mostly industrial and educational films for area oil, natural gas, and petrochemical companies, but also made newsreels for Fox and Movietone.
