Description: An uncompromising look at Canada's only federal penitentiary for women. The film centers on five women: their stories, their relationships with the other inmates and family and how they cope with their lives in prison. Incarcerated for crimes ranging from drug possession to murder, the women describe the pain, anger and confusion of their grim life behind bars. Reveals the the inadequacy of a rehabilitation system which cannot provide skills for useful re-entry into society.
