Noah's Ark or Multiplying with Fractions

Introduces multiplication of rational numbers in their fractional form through an animated story about Noah and his animals attempting to find a body of land large enough for all of them to inhabit. Shows the lion and the yak using a picture-method to determine the size of two sighted areas in terms of square miles. Demonstrates the lazy hippo's shortcut method of multiplying the numerators and the denominators in each fraction to find the area of land sighted by the sparrow. Ends with a question as to whether the hippo's method will always work.
