Penetrating the seeming wasteland laid down by the rivers along the Gulf Coast, this film reveals the hidden treasures of salt, sulfur, and oil buried beneath the plastic ooze. Demonstrates, in diagram and live action, how they are discovered, mined, and produced. Includes views of a crew on a marsh buggy, miners in the depths of a salt dome, sulfur wells, molten mineral pouring from under the mire, and a derrick boring into the muck for oil.
