Keeping Your Mind On The Job

Description: When our minds aren't focussed on the job, we might as well not be there. Time lost by absenteeism is miniscule: the major cause of mistakes, accidents and lost worktime is inability to concentrate. Explores such situations as: the factory worker who absent-mindedly does something careless and injures himself; the secretary, mentally rehashing a grievance, who reduces her efficiency by half; the executive who postpones major decisions because a single problem obsesses his thoughts; the creative person who gets stomach-knots and stalls for days before tackling a difficult assignment. This film shows how situations like this can be avoided by illustrating how our ever-present faculty for concentration really works.
