In her own time

Cultural anthropologist Barbara Myerhoff examines the life of orthodox Jews in Los Angeles. Working with senior citizens in the same community, Myerhoff learned that she had cancer. Realizing the Fairfax Project would probably be her last study, she changed the direction of her report to focus on the Hasidim. Becoming a member of this group, Myerhoff explores the customs and rituals which characterize the Hasidic lifestyle. An interview with Dr. Myerhoff takes place two weeks before her death.
