Description: Dating to 1959, these silent Kodachrome home movies begin at Stewart Air Force Base in Tennessee, where Armed Forces Day is celebrated (May 17th) with a big air show. B-52 airplanes are seen flying in formation as well as other aircraft. At 2:27 the ladies in the family play a friendly game of cards. The men do so at 2:51. At 3:00, downtown skyscrapers are seen, possibly Nashville or Lexington but then again, maybe not! At 3:41, horses are seen doing dressage. At 7:20 the family station wagon is washed. At 8:30, a trip to the zoo. At 10:27 what appears to be a watermelon eating contest and egg toss are shown, as well as eating carmel apples. At 10:50 there are dirt track races with small race cars. At 13:00, an air base entrance is seen, hard to make out the name of it. At 14:45, a baby is fed milk by grandpa. Baby also gets his or her hair brushed at 16:20. The family sits and socializes at 17:00. Baby gets a close up at 18:50. At 19:00 a cigar is smoked and drinks are served, and a cup of coffee is consumed. At 19:25 a cigarette is puffed in celebration of the holidays.
