Complete Record: A drama/documentary examining female alcoholism. Only in the last few years have we come to understand alcoholism as a disease-a treatable one. The change in attitude and increasing public tolerance have enabled many to seek-and get-help. But tolerance only goes so far. The stereotype of the ‘lace curtain lush’ - the censure of a woman with a drinking problem-causes many families to avoid, ignore, even hide the fact that a drinking problem exists. This film presents actual case histories of two women who have disregarded the usual anonymity and have dedicated themselves to helping other female alcoholics: actress Jan Clayton, known from her role as the mother on the Lassie TV program, and Margaret Fleming, a former teacher.
