Description: For gold, the conquistadores waged wars, looted graves and melted many of the golden treasures they found into bullion. Shows the descendents of the Indians who were defeated, the Koguis, crafting gold in small workshops and making reproductions of ancient treasures using the lost wax process. , Focuses on the art of crafting gold which, while skillfully done at one time by the Indians of South America, was lost when the Spanish conquistadores arrived. Shows surviving descendants of the Indians creating exact reproductions of original art pieces.
