Sherrill's, a restaurant/bakery in Washington D. C., has been serving generations of Washingtonians for over sixty-five years and is managed today by a bevy of women, getting on in years but still feisty and conscientious. Owner Lola Revis runs the establishment, aided by daughters Dorothy and Kathyleen, with a loving but stern hand. Veteran waitresses volunteer advice and homey repartee as side dishes to their customers' orders; loyal patrons praise Sherrill's as a comfortable and reliable waystation. Vintage photographs chart the restaurant's history and reveal how little it has changed over the years.
