Description: Documents the popular Coney Island spectacle show, Fighting the Flames. The cameraman, utilizing his camera in many positions, captures scenes of people watching antique fire equipment being drawn along the roadway by men in firemen's uniforms, as well as scenes, fairly close up of spectators applauding parading firemen. The last scenes include the arrival of a hook-and-ladder wagon and a personnel carrier to the scene of the burning building where men can be seen hosing a brick building while others leap from windows to safety nets below. Also appearing on this reel is the Edison Company short, Hippodrome Races, Dreamland (1905), which features chariot races and a re-enactment of a parade in ancient Rome.
