E. E. Cummings: The Making of a Poet

Presents a self-portrait of e. e. cummings, focusing on his early years, his poetic development, and his works. Recreates scenes from cummings' childhood, his student days at Harvard, his years in Paris and New York, and his years of mature creativity in Greenwich Village and New Hampshire. Highlights cummings' watercolor drawings, poetry, and selections from his sketchbooks., Cumming's drawings, paintings, and family photographs are used to trace the development of this American poet. The soundtrack is composed of Cummings' voice and words excerpted from Six Nonlectures delivered at Harvard University, 1953. The film re-creates scenes from his childhood, his student days at Harvard and years in Paris, New York, and New Hampshire.
