Determination Of The Triple - Point Of Water

Illustrates detailed procedures for preparing the internationally defined triple-point of water temperature reference, the temperature of equilibrium among ice, liquid water and water vapor. Demonstrates specific laboratory operations including--preparation of triply distilled water with proper isotopic balance - preparation of the triple-point cell containing only ice, liquid water and water vapor - and calibra tion of a platinum resistance thermometer using the triplepoint reference and a Meuller bridge.
