Bip at a society party

Illustrates Western cultural signs through a mime by Marcel Marceau in which Bip gets ready for and attends a high society party. Uses musical accompaniment and limited sound effects to emphasize the antics of dressing, meeting people, eating, drinking, and getting ready to leave. Opens with Marcel Marceau introducing the mime. One in a series of twelve films in which the great French mime Marcel Marceau performs some works from his repertoire. In his introduction he talks about the possibility of creating a variety of characters for a single sketch, almost establishing a little world of its own. Bip gets dressed for a society party, but has considerable trouble showing interest in the people he meets and becomes progressively more inebriated while exchanging meaningless pleasantries with his fellow guests.
