Uses nature photography of animals to illustrate two basic concepts--that some animals, such as cliff swallows, elk, bison, beavers, and quail, live in groups, and that other animals such as honeybees, ants, and termites live in communities in which there is cooperations among the members and a division of labor. Collaborator, Glenn O. Blough, Shows how some animals live in undifferentiated groups while others live in communities which have a specific division of labor between the animals.
