Description: This home movie captures scenes of the Yount family and the city of Beaumont during the 1920s and 1930s. The footage includes scenes of Mildred Yount, daughter of Miles Frank and Pansy Yount, riding a bicycle and of the family celebrating birthday parties and visiting the Texas State Capitol Building. The Yount-Manion Films were given to Lamar University by Greg Riley and Fred McKinley. The pair discovered the films while researching their 2005 book, Black Gold to Bluegrass: From the Oil Fields of Texas to Spindletop Farm of Kentucky, which chronicles the legacy of Frank and Pansy Yount.
