Follows Pierre, an eleven-year-old boy who chose to leave home and hockey to live in the regulated and disciplined atmosphere of the National Ballet School of Canada. Includes mime routines, ballet rehearsals, and male attitudes., A portrait of Pierre Quinn, a French-Canadian boy who gave up hockey and left family and friends to live and train at the National Ballet School in Toronto. The rigors of ballet training are presented as well as the students' disciplined attitude toward academic study. Pierre discusses his feelings about dance, the activities he must forego in order to pursue his interest and the personalities of Nureyev and Baryshnikov who are seen briefly.
