escape but public enemy number one is heading for a wooden box ruthless and heavily armed John Dillinger and company terrorized the nation for years in Chicago FBI bullets cut him down in Washington federal agent Melvin Purvis who led the hunt declares the case of John Dillinger his clothes in death Dillinger as as famous as in life here his body leaves a Chicago funeral flower for The Dillinger farm in Moore's very Indiana and thanks to his sisters home in Maywood the criminal pays the price of crime for all his daring Dillinger is no match for death [Applause] at his sister's home in Maywood dillinger lies in state and morbid mobs gather for a last look at the man who made a career of crime yes Dillinger is dead following simple ceremonies clouds still wait outside the house
