Description: Presents characteristics, activities, and selected specimens of four classes of annelids--Archiannelida, Hirudinea, Oligochaeta, and Polychaeta--and distinguishes between worms and "wormlike" animals. Uses a cross-section drawing of the earthworm to illustrate the unique make-up of annelids, shows earthworms in their soil habitat, and stresses their contribution to soil conservation. Depicts the habits and behavior of members of the largest class of annelids, the Polychaeta. Shows how some of the polychaetes gather food and concludes by picturing the flower worm.
