Description: Studies the Platyhelminthes, Nermertinea, Nemathelminthes, and the Annelida concluding that they have only their general shape in common. Diagrams the flatworm explaining their bilateral symmetry, mesoderm and flame bulbs. Pictures planaria close-up in live action. Compares the morphology of free-living and parasitic flatworms. Illustrates distinctive characteristics of the nermerteans and nematodes. Concludes that the differences between types of worms are greater than those found between some phyla.
