[Music] anyone who has helped to make a garden knows that water is of the greatest importance to plants that grow in the ground without water or moisture of any kind nothing will grow of course growing plants must also have sunshine and most all of them need good soil but perhaps a first and foremost importance plant life is most dependent upon water because of an abundance of water many parts of the United States are ideally suited for growing plants in such areas farm after farm can be seen each one growing and harvesting the crops so necessary to man [Music] corn for example rose well in the Midwestern part of the country where there is plenty of summer sunshine good soil and water in this case the water falls from moisture-laden skies as rain during the growing season other parts of the United States especially those lands that lie in the West are less fortunate here much of the land is poorly suited for farming some of it consists of thin sandy soil lacking the things plants need is food only the hardy
